We don’t get as much chatter about Cinema EOS products as we do with photography/hybrid focused products, but when we do, they tend to be fairly accurate. It looks like 2024 will also see Canon finally move forward with new Cinema EOS products.
One camera that has been mentioned recently is a smaller version of the Cinema EOS C70. There were rumors a few years ago about a Cinema EOS C50 that never came to fruition, though we do believe the product existed and simply never came to market. The Cinema EOS C50 rumors revolved around a box camera design, but this new camera apparently has a similar form factor to EOS C70, just a lot smaller.
The source claims that the camera will sport a super35 sized image sensor, most likely based off of the current Cinema EOS C70 sensor.
We’re not sure what segment this rumored camera would fit into, as the information given is somewhat vague. We don’t want to guess at this time, but we are told this camera will come in the first half of 2024, along with many more Cinema EOS announcements next year.
